Dan Radomski holds three C level positions with the Optimal Group of companies that includes Optimal Inc., Optimal Materials and Optimal Process Technologies, an innovative group of small businesses and start-ups focused on reverse engineering, competitive benchmarking, automotive vehicle engineering and lightweighting technologies. Dan leads strategy, business development and commercialization efforts for all three companies located in Plymouth and Ann Arbor, MI.
Dan was previously Vice President of Industry and Venture Development at NextEnergy, an energy and transportation technology incubator located in Detroit, MI. Dan led commercialization services including the market and technology analytic efforts to support the growth of early stage and mature energy technology firms. He led NextEnergy’s venture and incubator services supporting the commercialization efforts of approximately 1,000 new developers of advanced energy technologies helping attract over $274 million in investment/funding for clean tech ventures over 7 years. Radomski was also an instructor for I-Corps Energy & Transportation Program sponsored by Department of Energy (DOE) and ARPA-E leading recruitment of participants, secured over 50 industry mentors, customization of program curriculum. Radomski was also responsible for industry outreach, market research, value chain analysis and technology road mapping of several energy market segments including power electronics, energy storage, energy efficiency, smart grid and renewables. The methodology Dan developed of using industry analytics has received national recognition as a best practice to identify US competitiveness issues and inform regional and national economic development strategy.
Radomski has also served as an advisor for the National Governor’s Association’s (NGA) Clean Energy Economic Development Policy Academy program. Over the years, Dan has served as a contributor to Department of Energy’s Industry Peer and Annual Merit Review activities with the Clean Energy Manufacturing Initiative, Vehicle Technology, Wind, Solar, Solid State Lighting and Building Technologies Programs. Radomski frequently serves as an advisor, judge, mentor and committee member for regional and national accelerators and cleantech competitions including the TechStars Mobility, CleanTech Open, Clean Energy Trust Challenge, Accelerate Michigan, DTE E Challenge, Great Lakes Entrepreneur’s Quest, and the Michigan Clean Energy Venture Challenge. Previously, Radomski was co-founder of an innovative clean energy technology consultancy known as Kinetik Partners located in Berkley, MI and Barcelona, Spain, which provided product and business development strategy support for companies looking to enter or expand their business into the growing clean energy markets.
